1)- “Youth Participation in Security, Health and Policy Advocacy along Mekong River”, the project supported by Mekong Connection Program, Pact Thailand funded by U.S Department of State.
Achievement: In Process
48 (included 26 females) members of community youth network from Thanla Borivatt, Borey Osvay Senchey, Siembouk district and Stung Treng municipality of Stung Treng province gained the benefits from the activities of ToT training, action research, monthly meeting with commune/ Sangkat councils and mini-subgrant project.The modules of the training that they gained are 1). Civil rights, 2). The principles of good governance, 3). The roles and responsibilities of commune councils and citizens in local governance, 4). Deika (Order) preparation in the commune level 5). The principles of Mekong River 6). Advocacy methods, and 7). Project proposal writing, planning, and budgeting.431 community people and youth gained benefit and knowledge from community youth network through applying their mini-projects in their communities.Through joining the meeting with commune/Sangkat councils, 3 Deika (Orders) were prepared and approved.
2)- “Promoting youth, young men and women, in Constructive Civic Engagement and Democracy in Rural Areas (Pro-CED)”, supported by ANFREL, US. Department of State.
Achievement: In Process
54 (included 31 females) members of community youth network (CYN) from 18 communes in 4 districts in Preh Sihanouk and Tbong Khmom province gained benefits from the activities of training, Joint-commune youth forum, monthly meeting with commune councils and national election observation.The modules of the training that they gained are 1). Citizens’ rights and participation in good governance, 2). Democracy and Human Rights, 3). Elections and voter rights, 4). National Assembly Election, 6). Gender and quotas representing voters and 7. Youth and politics.In the first semester of year 2023, there are 165 (included 85 females) community people and youth from both target province—Tbong Khmum and Preah Sihanouk province participated in the Joint-commune youth forums. Then, they raised issues about civil rights in the process of national election, and sought appropriate solutions from local authorities for their daily facing problems—animals destroyed plants, land conflicts, and so on.
